123holidays.co.uk is dedicated to finding you the very best in holidays from all around the web and destination from around the world, this week we have been staying local to the UK as we visited Cumbria and in turn the Lake District.
Staying in one of the quaint holiday cottages in the Lake District 123holidays.co.uk was invited by Wetheral Cottages to come and stay at one of their most beautifully situated and luxurious lake district holiday cottages and as such a group of three of the team went to stay for the night.
As we approached the doors of Garth Cottage in the heart of Cumbria, we soon noticed that the cottage had recently been cleaned, naturally we expected this for our arrival, but noticing that the floors had been mopped and were shining with cleanliness, the aroma of cleaning products was in the air and after reading the note on the door which stated “please take off your shoes” we knew that we were staying in a cottage that was kept with care and attention paid to cleanliness, which was indeed a good first sign that this holiday cottage was well looked after and maintained.
We quickly scoped out the cottage and paid a visit to each room, we noticed the running theme of cleanliness throughout the entire cottage and as we ventured out into the court yard we even found that the stone and table and chairs out here had been covered, thinking that surely there would be some dirty chairs or a dirty table top of some kind lurking under these covers, we drew then back, only to be delighted to find that the chairs and table were indeed almost brand new in appearance.
Spending the night in the Lake District we awoke to find the sun was beaming through the open curtains, gloriously warm and welcoming, we decided to arise and take breakfast outside on the patio furniture. Sitting there and enjoying our coffee, a farmer walked passed, he said hello and asked how long we were staying at the cottage for, I told him just for the night, which he replied, we wait there and ill bring you some eggs for your breakfast. Delighted at his friendly nature I offered to pay the famer for his eggs, but he refused; we had scrambled egg on toast whilst we watched the morning pass from the comfort of out clean, Lake District holiday cottage
